What's New

Q: What will happen to existing Bison files?

A: Active Bison files will be completed wherever possible by Bison personnel and continue to be referenced by the same file number. They will be completed under the name of Bison Bailiff Services. Each file has been assigned to a recovery manager who is responsible for the completion of the file.

Q: What about new Bison files?

A: New Bison files will be opened under the name, Consolidated Civil Enforcement Inc., and warrants, letters of instructions, and indemnities should be addressed to Consolidated Civil Enforcement Inc.

Q: Why should I use Consolidated?

A: The new operation will combine Bison's many skills and experience with Consolidated's strengths. Some of the benefits of these companies joining forces include:

  • Double the number of bailiffs and over twenty recovery managers in Calgary and Edmonton, most of whom provide specialized services in vehicle recovery, sale of land, writs of enforcement, landlord tenant services, and so on;
  • Sale of Land department with legal supervision, professional real estate sale programs and effective recovery for fee simple, joint tenants, and undivided interests.
  • Greatly expanded coverage and capabilities in Edmonton and northern Alberta.
  • Consolidated's management team provides many years of experience with CEO Gary Law, a lawyer and member of the Law Society, President Norm Gagnon, with over 25 years of civil enforcement experience, Janice Kosowan a director of vehicle recovery operations for 15 years, and Patricia Wilson civil enforcement manager of 8 years experience.

Q: Will the costs go up?

A: Consolidated and Bison were operating on different fee schedules prior to July 1. A study of the fee schedules and financial records of both companies showed that while Bison and Consolidated charges vary, the overall file revenues of both companies were within 7% of each other. Expect some changes, but overall the costs should not change substantially.

Q: What is the new business arrangement - is it a merger?

A: No. Consolidated Civil Enforcement Inc. has purchased the assets, including the goodwill, of Bison Bailiff Services Ltd. and hired Bison staff. Consolidated has agreed to take over and complete Bison's existing files, and continue to service its existing customers.

Q: Who can I speak with?

A: Our website contains contact information for all Consolidated employees, including the Bison employees who have joined us. See People And Offices. Feel free to contact us to discuss any further questions you may have.
